PHILADELPHIA — University of Toledo senior tight end Michael Roberts has been selected by the Detroit Lions with the 127th pick of the 2017 NFL Draft.

Roberts, a fourth-round selection, had a breakout senior season for UT in which he caught a school-record 16 touchdown passes. Roberts finished the season with 45 catches for 533 yards and was named a first-team All-American by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) and was first-team All-MAC.

Roberts is the second UT player taken in this year’s draft after running back Kareem Hunt was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs with the 86th overall pick (third round).
