Well we’ve come to the end of our journey. Alas we never made our total. In truth we never got close, and never got the publicity or coverage we hoped for. We tried though and friends and strangers tried too. Thank you.

We were mentioned on Jonathon Ross’s radio 2 show (pre Sachsgate), although he never mentioned the project by name or told people where to go to find it. We were so close to two donations that would have changed everything, but just as conversations were getting somewhere the dreaded economic downturn exploded and the idea of giving money to something like we were trying became bottom of people’s list of priorities. Looks like we picked the wrong year to ask for money.

In years to come people will say wasn’t it a shame Dickie couldn’t make his treasured film about Tom Paine, and your soul will be light, and your heart true, because you tried to make it happen. Never forget that, we never will. We are proud of what we did, and proud that we reached out to people in this way. We made a stand, and tried, in the face of cynicism and apathy. We think Tom Paine would be proud.

Peace

A Gift For Dickie

A beautifully optimistic project to raise a multi-million pound film budget and give it away to Richard “Dickie” Attenborough so he can make the film he always dreamed of about one of the most important lost figures in history, and give everyone who donates a credit on the film
